About our P.A.C.

There are many timely issues that directly impact the homebuilding industry, such as building codes, zoning regulations, subdivision design guidelines, sprinkler requirements, impact fees, permitting processes, etc. These issues aren’t just impacting builders and developers; they affect those working in related fields, from asphalt companies to window suppliers and bankers to utility companies. Ultimately, these issues affect our entire regional economy.

Our association is very active voicing our concerns about housing and growth management issues. However, the association is only as strong as its members: the more members who participate, the more likely it is that our voices will be heard. One of the most important ingredients of a successful association is an active membership that is willing to have its voice heard by the public and by our elected officials. The accomplishments that can be realized through strong, grassroots efforts of our members are limitless.

Will-Grundy Builders for Communities PAC is the political action committee for the Will-Grundy Counties Home Builders and Associates. It is a separate entity from the builders association, with its own board of directors, WGBC-PAC raises money from members to contribute to state and local political races. WGBC-PAC funds are contributed to individuals running for state executive and legislative offices, county board as well as local elected positions. Candidates supported and elected with WGBC-PAC dollars ensure that builders’ issues are fairly represented at the legislature. PAC contributions allow us to introduce our industry and issues to candidates before the legislative session starts. These contributions carry added weight as they represent collective interests from the industry, not simply an individual person or business.

In addition to the Will-Grundy Builders for Communities PAC which is the connection to our local elected officials; the Illinois Home Builders Political Education Committee {link -(http://www.hbai.org/secure/politicalaction/contribution.asp) and the Home Builders Association of Illinois represent our interests in Springfield on State of Illinois issues and the National Association of Home Builders has Build PAC to represent us in Washington DC on federal issues related to the home building industry.
